Katherine Simon
My art is my escape and my home. Through the stroke of a brush or the scratch of a pencil I can manifest an idea from my mind into the physical world. I want to share my emotions and memories with others through my work, allowing people to escape into another world with me for even just a moment. My goal is to draw on their senses and evoke feelings that pleasurably exalt the mind and spirit.
The method that I use to create my work is experimental in nature and considered abstract expressionism. I try to create balance through different textures, colors, and patterns. Many of my pieces are mixed media with a focus on acrylic and oil paint.
